About The Artist

I call myself a jewelry artist, metalsmith and jeweler.  The jewelry artist in me conceives new designs, the metalsmith in me forms the object, the jeweler in me has the techincal ability to pull it all together!

I fell into the world of custom jewelry unintentionally. Taking a fun little jewelry course ignighted a passion for jewelry making I never knew I had. Since then, more than 20 years ago,  I have taken dozens of courses, developed my own processes via trial and error to create work I envisioned. I am motivated by a desire to learn different skills and how I can apply them to enhance, develop and evolve my designs.

Throughout my creative journey, I have been drawn to both the properties and impressions of silver and gold. The malleability of these metals allows me to craft unique and captivating jewelry. I shape, texture and manipulate their forms to fashion contemporary, wearable, and durable designs. Characterized by clean lines, and traditional shapes modernized by negative space, I find much of my work strikes a balance between simplicity and intricacy, a perfectly placed gem is often the final touch. I find I balance contrast in my creative process and in the jewelry itself.

The shape, form, color, and texture of my work reflects my own reverie. I intend my work to intuitively resonate with the wearers’ essence as well; my jewelry is made to allow the wearer to express their individuality and boost their confidence, as each of my designs is meant to connect with the collector.

My journey as an artist is ongoing.  There is always something new out there waiting for me to discover!

I base much of my work on my line of jewelry by incorporating gems and pearls into the pieces I fabricate. Falling in love with certain gems and pearls inspires me to include their beauty into my own concepts. You will see this in the work I present. I don't constrain myself to force the concept, the source of much inspirtion comes from raw materials.

I start with an idea, drawn from ambiguous collections of shapes and forms I observe abstractly. As I gaze into a bowl of discarded wire and shorn metals, I interpret the unique silhouettes that appear to me, living dualistically as its own form amidst the random. Through this, I divine my next piece. Sometimes I may even add more metal into this stew of shapes and ideas. In the same way, I draw inspiration from organically shaped pearls and juxtapose them with clean precisely shaped gems used as accents. Mixing metal colors, or not, is something I give myself free reign in doing.

Updated classical modern jewelry. Elegant & casual. Balancing this beautifully is my goal.
