I believe that driftwood carries a profound spiritual parallel to our own lives. Within each piece lies a story - the story of a once -living tree, of storms weathered, of seasons both harsh and gentle, of being uprooted and carried away by rivers. Like the driftwood, we too are cast into life’s turbulent waters, tossed by an unforgiving ocean for months or years. And then, one day, we are washed ashore-changed, weathered, yet beautifully reshaped by the journey. What emerges is something stronger, more powerful, and profoundly unique.

This is the story I seek to release in every sculpture that I create. It is not solely my story, but the story of all of us. It is Mother Nature’s story - a testament to transformation, resilience, regeneration, and rebirth. I see myself as a conduit, a translator of sorts, revealing the soul still living within the wood.

People often connect deeply with driftwood because it mirrors the human condition. Its imperfections are not flaws but reminders of survival, endurance, and beauty born of struggle. In these forms, they recognize themselves - imperfect, organic, ever-changing, and deeply tied to nature.

When people encounter my work, I hope they feel that connection: to the tree that once lived and breathed, to its journey of loss and renewal, and to its rebirth as art. What once was discarded and decaying becomes alive again, transformed into a vessel of beauty and meaning - a reminder that through hardship comes strength, and through change, new life.

I am committed to helping people connect with Nature through my work, to connect with themselves, to connect with each other, and to see that we are all, like Mother Nature, beautifully broken.
