’m David Krovblit, a collage and mixed-media artist working under the name KROVBLIT. My journey began as a commercial photographer, but I shifted into fine art to create work that is more personal, layered, and lasting. My process is a digital-to-analog transformation: I build layouts in Photoshop, print them large-scale, hand-cut the pieces, and reassemble them onto custom birch panels, sealing them under layers of resin. The result is a rich surface that feels both contemporary and timeless.
My motivations are rooted in curiosity and play. I’m fascinated by contrast—nature and technology, chaos and order, humor and seriousness—and I use surreal juxtapositions to spark conversation. My series like Butterfly Brain and Flower Brain explore transformation and the beauty of thought, while other works push into oceanic, celestial, and cultural narratives.
Ultimately, my art is about connection. Each piece is built to draw you in visually, then reveal deeper layers the longer you spend with it.
My Abstract Beauty series is an evolution of my past work—pushing further into the unknown. I’m layering my signature collage techniques with more mixed media elements: charcoal, pigment, acrylics, watercolors, even spray textures. Each piece becomes a dialogue between precision and raw gesture, between cut edges and fluid marks. It’s about letting material drive the energy, and showing beauty as something alive, shifting, and unpredictable.
What’s coming next? Expect bolder contrasts, richer textures, and surfaces that feel almost alive under resin. The new works invite you closer—they’re not just seen, they’re felt.
