I live in Illinois, I am a father of three girls, stepfather of one daughter and grandpa of two with one on the way. I have been a blue collar worker (Industrial Maintenance Mechanic) with a passion for wildlife and photography as long as I can remember. I have dabbled in a number of other projects over the years such as auto mechanics, construction and wood working to kill time on my off days but nothing really filled the void like photography.
In 2021, I met my mentor (Pete Zaluzec) who offered to teach me his unique process while I worked my "off days" with him. I agreed, sold my Harley to update my photography gear and finance my artist endeavor.
After a few years of wildlife photography excursions and cultivating my artistic vision, I was able to complete a solid body of works for presentation.
In 2024, I was blessed enough to get into my first two galleries in Montana.
In 2025, I signed up for five local art festivals and enjoyed them so much that I have decided to expand my reach out west. After all, Western Wildlife is where my passion shines brightest.
The artwork I will be displaying is Wildlife Photography printed on two layers of Gampi paper. I call it Gampi Art. Gampi is a Japanese Tissue paper.
My technique is unique as I print the exact image on both layers of the Gampi paper. After which, I adhere the two layers toghether aligning every detail, the fur, the feathers, the blades of grass and whatever else is in the photo.
Once that is complete, I soak the paper in a solution and hand dry each piece. This is the point where I start to shape the image and bring out the fine details and give my work the three dimensional effect I am looking for. This is also when I deckle the edges giving the art a more rustic appearance.
Afterward, each piece is hand signed, numbered and framed.
