To create his sculpture Joshua draws inspiration from relationships, nature and native cultures. Joshua is an experienced Machinist, Master Goldsmith, accomplished Sculptor with a BFA from Metropolitan State College Denver. Joshua has received various fellowships, and honorable mentions, a best in category show award, and has been working as an artisan since 2006. His work is in notable private collections from coast to coast and is shown in sculpture parks, galleries and public installations in such places as Scottsdale AZ., Santa Fe, NM. and Boulder, CO.
My sculptures visually narrate stories that are inspired by a reaction to life, nature and interpersonal dynamics. Each piece is hand forged and fabricated in my studio located in Nederland, Colorado. From TIG welding to hand forging my work is finely crafted from stainless steel and bronze. I abstract my subject matter into simple strong bold shapes; through placement, dynamics and texture I narrate the desired story. These simple yet bold arrangements tell a tale while also keeping a visual Zen like feeling.
