My journey as an artist began in a rather unlikely place – as the seventh of fifteen children in a chaotic household. At age five, I discovered my sanctuary in the world of colors communicating with one another. That early fascination has evolved into a career dedicated to creating work that springs from the soul and resonates with others.
My approach to art is deeply informed by my background in psychology and art therapy. This foundation has strengthened my belief in art's therapeutic power and its role in emotional and psychological healing. At its core, art is communication. Our environment continually influences how we think and feel; bringing art into our surroundings has the power to facilitate internal growth and healing. Colors are a powerful universal language and can evoke profound emotional responses.
Focusing on the universal process of resilient growth, I honor the imperfect, weathered forms that emerge when life encounters trauma, but continues its individual story. There's something powerful in how trees respond to injury. Similarly, humans develop strength, wisdom, and depth through adversity. Both carry their histories in visible form. These marks become part of their unique character. My paintings celebrate this transformation.
