Erickson Woodworking is a multi-generational furniture studio based in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Since 1970 we have brought together two themes in our work: function and beauty. For a chair, the focus of our work, this means it must comfort and durability are balanced with sculptural beauty.

It's this interplay between form and function, between a fair curve and a comfortable seat, that informs all of our work. Our preferred material is California walnut, a tree we are able to harvest and mill ourselves. This proximity to our medium gives us unmatched control over grain texture and color.

As our works evolves we are pushing the limits of this union, building pieces that are fluid, graceful and a delight to sit in.

We will be exhibiting a hand-picked selection of chairs from our collection. The South Yuba Rocking Chair in California walnut features our signature flexible "floating back"supreme comforte and sculptural beauty. The Wapiti Chair, also in California walnut, is a flowing occasional chair that works wonderfully as an accent piece. We will also be exhibiting our upholstered Kitkitdizzee Recliner. Luxuriously upholstered in black leather with a hand-carved frame, there is no better place to read a book or listen to your favorite music.
