Sue Dranchak brings years of training and experience in drawing to her vibrant acrylic paintings. Her unique style has become a captivating blend of contemporary and abstract-realistic forms. A graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Sue's passion for art flourished while living in a one-room cabin in the stunning Alaskan boreal forest. This close bond with nature inspires her work, making it a central theme in her artistic journey.
Now a full-time artist, Sue runs a home-based art studio in Phoenix, Arizona, and Poulsbo, Washington. She skillfully balances her creative pursuits seasonally between both locations, along with her husband and their dog, embodying the harmony of art and everyday life.
My artwork is a testament to the beauty and magic of nature and my unwavering belief in the importance of staying connected to it. Through the visual elements that nature provides us, I find infinite inspiration to create artwork that touches the hearts of others. Each painting begins with a rough pencil sketch on canvas. This sketch serves as the foundation for the final composition, which I bring to life by applying acrylic paint. By selectively incorporating new emerging ideas while staying true to the original concept, I create a work of art that is both thought-provoking and visually stunning.
