After pursuing academic, health related and travel interests through most of her twenties, Terry had an awakening of sorts when her mother marvelled at how she could be doing anything other than being an artist. She was dumbstruck--she hadn’t really thought about doing what she loved more than anything as a career. It didn’t take long for her to pack up and move across the country to study art at the Academy of Fine Art University in San Francisco. Here she was blessed to learn both plein-air painting as well as traditional studio painting from some of the
area’s top painters. In 2000, when she participated in her first art festival, the doors to the art world flew open. She was immediately picked up by a prominent Sausalito gallery and has since exhibited in galleries and festivals across the country, including the prestigious deYoung Invitiational.
Feeling a deep connection with nature, I am always inspired by the light interacting with the natural world. Capturing this magical quality of light as well as “pushing” the color are two primary focuses of my work. Spending time outdoors creates a sense of harmony and peace within me and my purpose is to bring that to the viewer in a way that adds beauty and light into their world. My current body of work celebrates morning light in the La Quinta Cove and Sunsets around greater area.
I also loves working with clients to create stunning custom pieces to enhance their spaces and their lives.
