I consider myself a figurative artist. My current body of work focuses primarily on animals. This is a new direction as I previously only created human forms. All of my work is inspired by my interest in the mind behind the figure. It is my hope, that the expression and gesture of the figure (whether human or animal), intreagues the viewer and invites them into a kind of communion and deeper connection with themselves.

The work I will be exhibiting at the La Quinta Art Celebration IS a Celebration of the importance or animals in our world and lives.

The inspiration behind this new direction in my work is our dog Sofia. The love she brough to my life was profound. I decided to take this journey into the animal world to connect with that incredible joy. I believe all animals can help heal and teach us how to be better humans. This new direction and process reinforces the truth that creating art is, for me, the best therapy!
