About The Artist
Jason Nelson was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1979. From a young age, he enjoyed painting models of boats and planes as well as collecting plants as colorful as he could find them.
His love and attention span of color found its stride while attending The Art Institute of Seattle.
There, he studied animation and focused his time on painting.
At school, he had the privilege of studying under the renowned Seattle painter
Bill Cummings. Bill survived the Great Depression as a homeless artist,
but went on to dominate the Seattle Art Galleries well into his nineties.
Bill loved the energy and freshness of Jason’s paintings and did his best
to encourage that excitement to continue in all his paintings.
